The Office of Youth Protection serves as a central resource to schools, colleges, and divisions offering activities for youth through UW-Madison.
All UW-Madison employees and volunteers involved in youth activities must complete training focused on their responsibilities to report child abuse and neglect under Executive Order #54. Additional trainings may also be required depending on your role/responsibilities within a Youth Activity. See Youth Protection Policy (UW-1045) for more information on compliance requirements or email youthprotection@wisc.edu.
UW-Madison employees with an interest in youth activities can also register for monthly Youth Activities: Protection and Engagement Group meetings. It is highly recommended that at least one representative from each UW-Madison youth activity attends each meeting to remain up-to-date on both requirements and recommended practices for running youth activities in a safe and effective manner. More information on the Youth Activities: Protection and Engagement Group can be found on the Office of Youth Protection webpage.
