What mid-career employees should know about their retirement options
Are you a UW-Madison employee who is 5-15 years* from retirement? Time to review your retirement preparations so far and consider what else you can do now to be ready for the future.
Topics include:
• A review of the three retirement plans offered to our employees
• How to estimate what you’ll receive as a monthly pension from the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS)
• What happens to your money if your employment ends before retirement age?
• The value of saving sick leave now to pay for your future retiree health insurance premiums
*All are welcome, but if you’re more than 15 years from retirement, you will likely find our Starting to Save session more relevant; if you’re within 5 years of retirement, our Ready to Retire session will be more relevant (and is a prerequisite to a 1:1 Benefits at Retirement appointment).
