Life on Purpose Shilagh Mirgain There are health benefits to knowing and living your purpose. Finding meaning is often ever-changing as we age and transition through different phases in our lives. It can also be challenging, because we get caught up in the expectations of others or the expectations we put on ourselves. Connecting with a sense of purpose allows us to be more resilient and to be in awe of the healthy impact we can have on the world. In this presentation, Dr. Shilagh Mirgain, Distinguished Psychologist in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, will explore topics including scientifically based strategies to cultivate physical, emotional, and mental health and well-being; the science of habit change to move successfully toward purposeful goals; and developing resilience to better manage stress.
